Spring 2025:

I am delighted to welcome everyone back to IHGC for the new year! We have an amazing calendar of events for the spring, with lectures and other events hosted by our IHGC fellows, Games Lab, Personhoods Lab, Race and Performance Lab, and Reading Lab. We are also looking forward to the slate of events offered by our two sponsored groups, the Modern and Contemporary Culture Workshop (MoCo) and the Political Theory Colloquium. In addition, as part of our new role in supporting the College’s Emerging Initiatives, there will be events sponsored by the Digital Humanities Initiative and the Islamic Worlds Initiative. In April, we’ll have our annual IHGC Book Celebration, which will feature faculty publications from 2023 and 2024.

Be on the lookout for the annual call for labs, sponsored working groups, and IHGC fellows, which will be released at the end of January. This year we’ll also have a call for graduate student and faculty participants in the annual University of the Western Cape Winter School, to be held in Cape Town, South Africa, during their winter months. This new initiative is generously supported by the Provost’s Office and UVA Global Affairs.
