There, she oversaw advising services and the honors curriculum and worked alongside colleagues to ensure an enriching educational experience for VCU students. During her time at VCU, Homer enrolled in a doctoral program through the VCU School of Education and completed her doctorate in Leadership in 2017. After moving to Florida in 2016, Homer worked in alumni relations at Barry University before accepting a position as Assistant Director with the University of Miami Center for the Humanities, where she chaired the University’s common read program and led initiatives to engage academic and public audiences in the humanities. Over the course of her career, Homer has worked productively with university and government leadership on a variety of projects, including curricular development, strategic planning, and grant programs. She continues to support lifelong learning and community engagement with an emphasis on interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
