This workshop will provide an overview of statistics and quantitative methods in the social sciences and resources for applying them in the Digital Humanities field. Participants will be able to plan and execute a quantitative study from data collection to analysis. The focus of this session is to provide information and resources on how to plan and execute a quantitative study. Humanities research can involve multiple data sources and data types; this workshop will focus will be on how to understand relating data types and sources to an appropriate statistical method. While no coding will be done in this session, a discussion of how to decide on which coding platform to use and best practices will be provided. There is no minimum requirement for familiarity with statistical methods or coding.
